The
purpose of the Intelsat Retirees and Alumni Association is to focus on
the interests and needs
of its members which
includes
Intelsat retirees and
non-retirees
(former
Intelsat staff members,
contractors and temporary Intelsat employees).
However,
current Intelsat staff members are not eligible for membership in the IRAA.
If an IRAA
member accepts a position with Intelsat, his or her IRAA membership
will be deferred for the period of employment with Intelsat and IRAA
membership will be renewed at the end of employment with Intelsat. When
an IRAA member accepts Intelsat employment, the requirement for IRAA
dues payment will also be deferred during the period Intelsat employment
and reinstated following the period of Intelsat employment with any
remaining balance of dues already paid credited to the member at that
time.
It is the responsibility of IRAA members to notify the
IRAA if they become Intelsat staff members. The IRAA reserves the right
to temporarily defer the IRAA membership of an IRAA member who becomes
an Intelsat staff member, contractor or temporary employee.
